Your audit
What happens after my audit?
From the auditor's report to the Commission's decision, and what registration looks like.
Finishing Stage 2 is not the end of the process, but it is the end of the hardest part.
The auditor's report
Your approved quality auditor writes a report on how your business performed against the standards in your scope. It records any non-conformities — where they found something that did not meet a standard — and usually classifies them as major or minor. Your auditor tells you what they found and what they expect you to do.
Corrective actions
If there are non-conformities, you prepare a corrective action plan: what you will change, how, by when and what evidence you will provide. Your auditor sets the timeframe and decides when the evidence is sufficient. Getting findings is common, especially for new providers. It is not a rejection.
The report goes to the Commission
Your auditor submits the audit outcome to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. The Commission — not the auditor — decides your registration. It also assesses the suitability of your business and your key personnel.
The decision
If you are approved, you receive a certificate of registration listing the registration groups you are registered for and the period of your registration. Conditions can be applied. If the decision is not what you hoped, the Commission's correspondence explains the reasons and your options.
Then what
- Your obligations start properly: incident notifications, complaints handling, worker screening, record keeping, and monthly restrictive practice reporting if you are an implementing provider
- Keep your registers running. The next audit looks at the period since this one
- Note your renewal date early. Renewal comes around faster than you expect
- Tell the Commission about changes it needs to know about, such as changes to key personnel
Easy Compliance is independent of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and cannot influence, predict or guarantee a registration decision.
